Loaded Baked Potato Dog
There's been a huge debate lately: "Are hot dogs considered a sandwich?" We vote no. We think they're in a class of their own. Outside of that debate, we often find ourselves asking some heavy-hitting questions like what is a bun? Well friends, we think quite a few things could be considered a bun (if you're adventurous enough). Just take a look at this creation—The Loaded Baked Potato Dog, which in fact uses a baked potato as a bun. You may be asking yourself "does that taste good?" to which we would answer "No. It tastes freaking amazing." Also, it's gluten free!
Prepping the potato bun is going to be the most challenging part of this recipe, though it will still be easy. You may want to read up a bit on how to microwave bake a potato, if you don't have time for the traditional oven method.

What You Need:
- 1 Beef & Pork Brooklyn Hot Dog Co. hot dog
- 1 Idaho Potato (a sweet potato also works)
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/4 shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream
- 1 strip of crispy bacon (bacon bits work too)
- 2 tablespoons of chopped scallions
What You Do:
- Microwave bake or oven bake your potato (oven preheated to 425, wash and dry the potato, pierce 2-3 times with a fork, bake for about 45 mins)
- Hydrotoast your dogs
- Cut a length-wise wedge out of the cooked potato. Make sure its deep and wide enough to fit the dog and the toppings nicely
- In the open wedge, apply your butter and lightly mash the area with a fork
- Chop the bacon up into little bits
- Place the hot dog in the wedge and top with shredded cheese, sour cream, bacon bits and chopped scallions
